LG Mobile Reports Loss of £64m for Second Quarter

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

LG’s handset division has posted a loss of £64 Million for the second quarter ending 30th June 2010, despite selling 30.6 million units in the quarter.  It is our view that this is because the handset manufacturer has a relatively weak “total Portfolio” this is most apparent in the smartphone segment which is a segment that is on the rise for other mobile manufacturers. The weakness in this key area has allowed Apple and BlackBerry to increase their sales in this segment.

LG can recover from this but we think that they need to look at the breadth of their range in order to ensure that they can optimise their market share. They do have a number of handset models available but they do not cover all sectors adequately.

LG do have a large range of mobile phone accessories available for their range of phones, LG batteries, LG Bluetooth kits and LG mains chargers are all available to purchase. So if you are an LG fan maybe take a look at the range.

Mobile Phones – LG Launches First Android Smartphone

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

A fresh smartphone contender is now firmly on the horizon after LG released its first ever Android smartphone to the mobile phone market. The birth of the LG InTouch Max GW620 has seen LG Electronics seek to bring “apps to the masses”.

As an Android-powered smartphone, the LG InTouch Max is to have connectivity to its database of around 20,000 applications via the Android Market – giving it a welcome platform with which to build from.

There is a fear that LG has entered the smartphone game just a little too late, but its 5-line QWERTY touchscreen keyboard will be as efficient and easy to use as the best-selling HTC models.

LG’s New ‘Chocolate’ Mobile Phone Hits The Stores Next Week

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

News broke yesterday that LG’s new addition to the Chocolate series the BL20 will be released in shops this week. LG are renowned in the mobile market for their combination of award winning design and the latest technological features. Their new mobile follows this successful ‘chocolate’ phone recipe with its slick good looks and high spec functions, paying homage to the original KG800 Chocolate phone launched in 2006. LG are perhaps trying to imitate the popular KG800 in an attempt to recreate its figures; 21 million units sold worldwide.

Features of the BL20 Chocolate mobile phone are also similar to the LG BL40, the latest phone in the LG collection, such as the iconic long, thin chocolate bar- shaped design. The BL40 was marketed as the first ‘wide screen mobile’ and winner of the Mobile Choice Awards – Most Stylish Handset (October 8). The new BL20 mobile phone encompasses these prestigious features but with the added extra of a sliding keypad.
