Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

A recent article that I happened to read stated that Nokia has had a terrible year with profits down by 40%, what do they have to do to compete with the IPhone and BlackBerry handsets that are proving so popular today?

Nokia Mobile phones used to be the norm, everybody would have one, and when you walked down any high street it would be full of people on their phones. All of the mobile phone shops would have offers for mobile phones and accessories all based around Nokia products. Last week I took the time to look at the offers and they were all based around iPhone accessories and BlackBerry accessories.  I would be interested to see if anybody else has found the same ?

With three generations of iPod Touch handsets now on the market, it can be very difficult to distinguish between the models. The original 1st generation model was available with both 8GB, 16GB and 32GB memory storage, weighing in at just 120g. The 1st generation iPod Touch was connective via USB 2.0, with iPod Touch data leads and cables available to both synchronise and charge the device simultaneously.

The most significant developments and enhancements in the 2nd generation were its improved battery life, which enabled users to listen to audio for over 50% longer. Many of the high street handsets now come with competent storage space with the capacity to extend if needed.

Instead of using your mobile phones memory to save your pictures, videos and songs, why not purchase a memory card, so that when you upgrade your phone you can then just swap over the memory card.

Mobile Phone Accessories Market Valued At $63 Billion

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Recent studies by ABI Research have suggested that the current mobile phone accessory market is now worth a staggering $63 billion worldwide. When we consider this almighty figure, it is hard to imagine just how this consumer market has become quite so dominant.

Nevertheless, one look across a crowded room would provide the answer to this conundrum. Almost everyone now owns a mobile phone handset of some form, specifically in the age bracket of 15-45. Not many of us would be able to name too many friends that do not own a mobile handset. Understandably the older generations of our families have struggled to come to terms with this revolution, but even grandparents and great grandparents now use and accessorise their mobile phones.

In the United States alone, the average mobile phone owner spends $60 on mobile phone accessories per handset, equating to around £35. There is an increasing trend of mobile hands-free operation across the world, which allows drivers and travellers the chance to stay connected whilst on the move. This enhancement has been a major addition to the mobile phone accessories market.

Palm’s latest device, the Palm Pre, helped them take the idea of wireless charging into the mainstream, but their dominance in this area could be soon to end.
With the input of developers, WildCharge, an effective wireless charging solution for the iPhone is ready for release. By using an iPhone or iPod in a gel skin connector, the user can select the handset for the charger pad and carry out the process.
