A London-based mobile phone developer has launched a brand new predictive text technology aimed at providing 50% greater efficiency on touch-screen devices – a groundbreaking solution for users who are put off the latest smartphones due to their entirely touch-screen capabilities.
Amazingly, the program, FluencyMobile is capable of predicting a third of all words written without the user having to even touch a button. Meanwhile 85% of words are predicted within the first two characters.
Users will not have to learn the program too heavily as FluencyMobile has a built-in personalisation service which ensures its vocabulary learns how the user wishes to type and speak.

UK mobile phone carriers have been warned about the mobile broadband speeds that they have been advertising for their users. Broadband watchdog, Broadband Genie claims that government legislation could soon come into practice to prevent networks advertising unrealistic mobile broadband speeds via a dongle.
A recent survey of over 6,000 mobile broadband download speeds revealed that the average download speed went up by a mere 0.2mb between January and December of last year – all this while mobile phone carriers have been advertising speeds of between 3.6 and 7.2mbps.
If networks continue to advertise unrealistic broadband speed figures it is likely that consumers will lose faith in the service and swap their mobile broadband dongle for a smartphone boasting 3G connectivity.

Apple iPhone users will soon be able to call upon a physical QWERTY keyboard to use for texting and web browsing. The latest in the line of mobile phone accessories from Ion has arrived, with the iTYPE providing a considerably quicker solution to touch-screen typing.
Users wishing to purchase the iTYPE will have to download a free application in order to use the accessory. The keyboard will be a welcome addition to the iPhone as a means of sending messages via e-mails and numerous other applications.
The iTYPE keyboard has been designed with the aim of attracting PC users towards using a smartphone of this calibre. The portability and design of the iPhone is an attractive feature to most mobile phones consumers but the added option of using a keyboard will allow businessmen and socialites to keep on top of their e-mails on the move with an efficient keyboard system.
